About Us
Identifex, LTD was born around a kitchen table in mid 2007. By October 2007, it became a South Dakota corporation and was officially open for business. The goal of the company was to offer web development, web hosting, and advertising services to Watertown and northeastern South Dakota. A couple of years and many websites later, we realized that the true strength of Identifex was in web development. We’ve been focusing our efforts on the web ever since.
Identifex is owned and managed by Jeana Cherland and Kevin Harrington. Between the 2, they have over 30 years of experience in the computer industry.
Our Team
Jeana Cherland – Web Development
Jeana has been building websites and web based applications since 1998. She’s had the honor of speaking about web design at a national computer franchise company’s annual convention and been recognized by the past head of the University of Minnesota Mini-MBA program for her web development work in the franchise industry. She has been a marketing & web trainer for the franchise industry and an adjunct Computer Information Systems instructor at Lake Area Technical Institute. Jeana eventually returned to Watertown and in 2007, helped found Identifex. When she doesn’t have her head buried in a computer screen, you may see her around town singing karaoke on the weekends.
Kevin Harrington – Servers, Networking & Programming
We aren’t certain, but Kevin may have been born with a soldering iron in his hand. He started programming and taking apart electronics while still in grade school. After 13+ years as a local ISP/hosting company’s network administrator and programmer, he departed and joined Identifex as a part-time network administrator. He later became an owner of the company and continues to serve as Network Administrator in addition to his duties as General Manager for Data Truck, LLC, a local wireless ISP.
Peter Boyle – Web Development
Peter joined Identifex for his college internship and never really left. (We’ve tried to scare him off a few times, but it never works.) It didn’t take long for him to become one of Identifex’s greatest assets. Peter amazed the rest of the staff with his ability to learn so fast and his vast knowledge of coffee beans (which is a huge bonus in the computer geek world). He has a BA in Information Technology from Mount Marty College and specializes in Web Development.
Chris Paulson – Web Development & Programming
Chris is the latest addition to the Identifex family. We knew he would fit in as soon as we heard his taste in music. When Chris isn’t laying down recording tracks for bands or pounding it out on the drums, he’s spending hours on the computer writing code. We are super excited to have another programmer on staff and look forward to the inevitable office jam sessions of the future.
Jennifer Streckfuss – Account Representative
Jen is another 2012 addition to the Identifex staff. She has been tasked with organizing a gang of “creative types”, managing our customer accounts, and refilling the candy bowl at the front desk. (She actually volunteered to fill the candy bowl and we weren’t about to stop her!) Jen is a recent graduate of Mount Marty College where she earned a BA in Information Technology. With her unique combination of customer service experience and knowledge of web development, we knew she would be the perfect person for the job.
